This might sound crazy, but I love when I hear from across the room “she’s a lesbian”.

Let me explain a little more.

The first time it happened was at a small gathering off all of my hometown friends/classmates. I can’t even remember what was said, but the comeback came from one of my best friends, Lindsey, “no, she’s a lesbian”. I could see instant regret on her face, and she apologized more times than I could count, but IT WAS OK. I felt like someone was sticking up for me on the playground.

I don't care who it comes from as long as it isn't negative. It gives me a sense that people I love are supportive and not ashamed of who I am. It has taken me years to finally come out, and I love and appreciate the acceptance from the people I care about most.

When I go out, I get the common question of, "Do you have a boyfriend?" My go to answer is no, unless the alcohol has taken affect (then I go full homo), but my friends usually chime in, "She's a lesbian". This is when a cheesy little smirk creeps across my face, and I usually get the "Oh cool" reaction. Nevertheless, my heart is full.

This blog is where I will tell personal stories of my hidden and openly gay life, as well as fictional lesbian short stories. WELCOME!
